Edward J. Okpisz

Edward Okpisz Jr. passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at the age of 85.   Ed was the son of Edward Sr. and Gertrude Okpisz (nee Gutowski); loving husband of Susan Okpisz (nee Moore) of 60 years this past September. She was known as his Sweetheart.

Father of Ronald, Steven and Christine (Little) Grandfather of: Amanda Okpisz, Rachel Okpisz, Crystal Olson, Evan Okpisz, Naomi Little and Katelin Little and a proud Great-Grandfather of Lucas and Cody Olson. 

Ed was also known as Fast Eddie in his early days.  He loved cars and drag raced a car with 3 gears with the push button manual shift.  He owned many special cars but the 1960 White Chrysler 300 was always his favorite.  He graduated from Lake Forest College and attended on a full basketball scholarship.  He worked as a manager for Cheshire owned by Xerox in Mundelein, IL for many years.  He loved sports and played tennis weekly at an indoor club and played golf in his later years.  He attended Zion Lutheran Church in McHenry, IL for decades with the family and served as an elder, a board member and enjoyed the dart ball church team.  He liked going to car shows and featuring one of his special cars which varied through the years.  He loved square dancing with Sue in their special outfits and traveled to dancing events often.  He enjoyed playing games with family from cards to board games to yard games.  

Interment Private.
