Alvin "Al" Simantel, Jr.

Alvin "Al" Simantel, Jr., age 84, was the beloved husband for 56 years of Joyce, until her death on June 26, 2013; devoted father of Kelley (late Roger) Howard, Joni (Richard) Senkpeil and Joel Simantel; loving poppy of Justin Murray, Brittany Senkpeil and Ryan Senkpeil; dear brother of William and James (Lyn) Simantel, Doug (Christine) and David Oshel and the late Milton (Janie) Simantel; fond uncle of many.  

Al was a US Navy veteran of the Korean War.  Following the service, he worked for Jewel Foods for 20 years, then as a manager with Acosta Sales and Marketing for 44 years.  

Visitation will be held Friday from 3:00pm - 8:00pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1101 Kimberly Way, Lisle.  Family and friends may also gather at the church on Saturday from 9:00 am until time of Funeral Service Saturday 10:00 am.  In loving memory of Al's niece, Tara Simantel, memorials may be made to the charity she started after passing away from melanoma skin cancer: The Passion Foundation, CNL Bank, Attn: The Passion Foundation, 7996 Mediterranean Dr., Estero, FL  33928 or at Passion-Foundation.org.  Please read her difficult but inspiring story at Passion-Foundation.org and give generously in Al's memory.
