Angelina J. Sokolski, age 96, was born August 25, 1922 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Frank and Rose, nee Signorelli, Galiano; she was the beloved sister of the late Frances (late Clifford) Bach and the late Helen (Tony) Petitti; cherished aunt of Don (Anita) Bach and Gary (Brenda) Bach; great-aunt of Jennifer Ciesinski, Bryan Bach, Steven Bach and Michael (Stephanie) Bach; great great-aunt of Andrew and Matthew Ciesinski and Brooke and Bryce Bach; fond cousin of many and close, special friend of Judy Rimkus and Theresa (Raymond) Steigerwald.
Angie was very active in her neighborhood and was known as a great friend who would help anyone. Angie worked for Bell & Hower and in her spare time loved gardening. She also got joy from collecting elephants and amassed a collection of over 300 in all. She exercised for fun, loved to play the lotto and was very lucky (#4710), and hated cats but still took in stray cats in the neighborhood.
Angie was always giving and never taking. She was very fond of and would often host Christmas at her home in Chicago, inviting all of the family there. In her 96 years, Angie left a legacy of love and friendship that will always be cherished.
Family and friends are invited to join for a Committal Service and Burial at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1400 S. Wolf Rd., Hillside, IL (Just south of Roosevelt Road) on Saturday, September 22, 2018. All attendees are to meet at the office between 10:00 am and 10:30 am for a procession to the graveside.
