Angelo Parziale, Jr. Obituary

Angelo Parziale, Jr., age 81, was born October 25, 1934 in Chicago, IL, the son of Angelo Parziale, Sr. and Josephine Mazzerra Parziale, who raised Angelo in an Italian neighborhood on the west side of Chicago.  Growing up in that neighborhood, Angelo made friendships that he maintained throughout his adult life.  Angelo was definitely a part of the Italian West Side, but he also found in that neighborhood some good Irish kids, kids by the name of Valentine and others that gave Angelo a well rounded childhood.  Angelo would go on in his adult years to brag that he was the only Italian member of the Irish Club of Aurora.

Angelo spent most of his adult life in Lisle, IL, which he was very fond of.  He was the beloved husband for more than 40 years of the late Maxine Russell; dear father of Angelo Parziale, Linda Royer and Patty Parziale; loving grandfather of Ronny (Sheri) Young and Michael Young; and great grandfather of Carter and Kennedi Young.

Those who Angelo called a friend, knew a lot about him.  This was guaranteed, as Angelo liked to reminisce.  He took great pleasure in recalling personal nostalgia.  Angelo could tell stories in a way that painted a picture of people and places in the past, as if the listener was looking at the scene through Angelo's memory.

Angelo also liked to smile and to laugh and to share.  Angelo was content with how he had lived his life and counted each day an opportunity to enjoy.  He liked to be generous to his friends, especially with his beloved garden.  There may not have been any place Angelo felt more comfort, more at home, more healing, or more content than in his garden, a vast expanse of containers stretching a path the size of a football field, with garden hoses hanging from trimmed pine branches, ready for use, and chairs in the center of this beautiful space, for himself and a friend to pass the afternoon hours....reminiscing.

In accord with Angelo's wishes, a simple, private service will be held to place his ashes next to his beloved Maxine in Assumption Cemetery.  Friends will be able to locate Angelo's resting place to pay respects in Assumption Cemetery, 1S510 Winfield Rd., Wheaton (between Roosevelt and Butterfield Rds).  Columbarium IV East, Tier E, Niche 55.
