Bettye Jean Franzen

Bettye Jean Franzen, age 101, a 20 year resident of Windsor Park, in Carol Stream, IL. went peacefully to be with her Lord on October 12, 2017.

Bettye was born on February 8, 1916 in Terre Haute, IN. to Fay and Frances Eugenia (Jewell) Leek.  Her family moved to Bensenville, IL. in 1934 after her graduation from high school.  While there she met. and later married Oliver F. Franzen on May 13, 1939.  They were the first couple to be married at Bensenville Bible Church and were very active members for nearly 50 years, with Bettye using her helping and artistic gifts to serve.

Bettye and Oliver and their two sons lived in Bensenville and Elmhurst during that time.  After raising their family, they moved to Leisure Village in Fox Lake, IL. in 1988.  After Oliver’s death in 1997, Bettye moved to Windsor Park in October of the same year.

Proverbs 31:28:  Her children rise up and called her blessed.  Giving the Lord of Life great thanksgivings are Bettye’s family: her sons (and daughters) David (Linda) and Dennis (Margaret), five grandchildren:  Linnea (Chip) Poland, David T. (Linda) Franzen, Lisa (Jason) Poland, Daniel (Elena) Franzen, Caroline (Mark) Mouradian, and twelve great grandchildren:  Alissa, Amanda, Caiti, Elizabeth, Chad, Austin, Ashley, Olivia, Jaina, Nathan, Markie, and Alex.

A Memorial Service will take place Monday, October 16, 2017 at Windsor Park Chapel, 124 Windsor Park Drive, Carol Stream, IL. at 1:30 pm

Interment will be private. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Covenant Care at Home - Hospice, 3755 E. Main St., St. Charles, IL 60174 or the Windsor Park Staff Christmas Fund.
