Christopher John Morgen, born May 28, 1966 in Cleveland, Ohio the son of Richard “Dick” and the late Elizabeth “Bette” Morgen of Darlington, MD; Christopher married his beloved Nathalie Michel on Oct 11, 1997 in Darlington, MD. Chris was the loving father of Julian Reed Morgen and Lydia Jane Morgen; dear brother of Jeffrey Morgen of Conowingo, MD and Beth Morgen of Baltimore, MD; and devoted nephew of Joan Nugent of Darlington, MD. Christopher was raised in Amherst, NH and Indian Harbour Beach, FL.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) (Class of 1987), where he was president of his fraternity Beta Theta Pi, and a Master of Science from Purdue University (Class of 1996). Intelligent and intellectually curious, Chris did well both in school and in his professional career. He worked for 31 Years at GE Transportation where he was most recently a Manager for their Reliability CoE Solutions Management group. Chris touched nearly every aspect of GE Transportation and has friends and colleagues around the globe.
No one more than Chris loved his family, which includes all those under his “umbrella”. His love, devotion and commitment were unparalleled and unwavering. He held a special place for his pet menagerie: dog, Benson and cats, Vinnie, Lyla, Neuman & Alice. Chris enjoyed the thrills of snowboarding, waterskiing, skateboarding and mountain biking. But he was happiest at home, whether in Lisle, IL or Findley Lake, NY, with his family, serving as breakfast chef, coach, laughing and being an adoring father and cherished husband and friend.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Chris’ Life to be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2018. Gathering will be from 11:00 am until the time of service at 12:00pm in the Grounds of Hope Café Auditorium, 2701 Maple Ave., Lisle, IL. Followed immediately by reception with food and refreshments.
