Dariusz Achramowicz

Dariusz “Curly” Achramowicz was born on January 15, 1963 in Gdańsk, Poland to Anna, a doctor, and Jrzy Achramowicz, an engineer. Dariusz was very intelligent & passionate from a young age. He demonstrated great interest in university & studied psychology in Gdańsk.  It was during his teenage years that he discovered his lifelong passion for motorcycles and dreamed of migrating to the United States.

As a teenager he deconstructed WWII motorcycles and watched many American films, his all time favorite being ‘Easy Riser’, and listened to American rock ‘n’ roll.
Dariusz moved to the United States in his early 20’s, sending for his family soon after. He and his family settled in Chicago where he lived for the rest of his life. Throughout his life he traveled to Sturgis & Daytona Beach & participated in bike shows where he won many trophies for his custom bikes. In the early 90’s, he posed on one of his creations with his family for ‘Easy Rider’ magazine.

Dariusz was extremely creative - a gifted drawer, self-taught mechanic, and most of all fiercely passionate about his family and his work. One of his most beloved endeavors was to ride his motorcycle all over the country visiting canyons, deserts, mountains and Native American reservations. He considered riding to be his ultimate freedom.

Dariusz is survived by his children Jessica, Chris and Mike Achramowicz who loved him dearly. His wife, Malgorzata “Gosia” Bruniak, mother Anna Achramowicz, dog “Dude”, lifelong friend Malgorzata Achramowicz and his grandchildren Berko and Pascha.
