Dawn Marie Boone

 It saddens us to announce the passing of Dawn Boone on February 1st, 2023, after battling for over 6 weeks from trauma caused by a car collision. 

Dawn came into this world to Jane and Clinton Boone in Chicago, Illinois on May 18, 1960. She grew up in Chicago, Illinois and then moved to Oak Lawn, Illinois where she completed high school at Oak Lawn High School graduating in 1978. After being out of school for over 20 years, she enrolled at DeVry University and graduated in 2001 with an associate degree. She was preceded in death by her parents Clinton and Jane, and sisters Kathie and Louise. She will be greatly missed by her daughter Theresa (Joe) Graben and the many friends she made throughout the years. Dawn worked many different types of jobs throughout her life such as data entry, waitress, bartender, ATM repair technician, and school bus driver to name a few. Being a single mom was not an easy task, but Dawn was a hard worker who typically worked two jobs to ensure she could provide for her daughter. Dawn loved being a mom more than anything else and every decision she made was with Theresa's best interest in mind. She worked overnight shifts in order to be able to attend school events with Theresa and worked extra shifts to save money for family vacations. Dawn was a huge sports fan and loved watching the Bears, the Hawks, the Bulls, and her favorite was the Cubs. Watching the Cubs win the World Series in 2016 was very special for Dawn. Dawn also enjoyed going to country music concerts and numerous summers were spent at the Illinois State Fair in order to attend the concerts. Her favorite concert, Rascal Flatts, was attended in 2016 with Theresa. Dawn enjoyed spending time with family and friends. If you needed someone to talk to or needed help with anything, Dawn was always just a phone call away. She was someone you could always count on to be there if you needed anything. 

Family and Friends may gather for Visitation at Peace Memorial Church 10300 West 131st St. Palos Park, Illinois. On Wednesday, February 8th, 2023 from 3:00pm-8:00pm. On Thursday February 9th gathering will begin at 10:00am with a funeral service starting at 11:00am. A private burial will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please honor Dawn with your donations to Peace Memorial Church. 

Arrangements for Dawn and his family have been entrusted to Debbie Zefran-Jerry funeral director and friend.
