Dennis Mitchell Converse

  Dennis Mitchell Converse “DC” was born November 5, 1943 in Austin, Texas, the son of Irving Mitchell Converse and Ethelynn, nee Smith, Converse.  He passed away on September 7, 2021, in Naperville, Illinois, after a hard fought battle with cancer.  

  Dennis was the beloved husband for 49 years of Diann O., nee Dodson, Converse, where the couple were married in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1972.  The couple moved to Aurora, Illinois in 1976.  Dennis was loving father to Chris (Sara) Converse and cherished grandfather of Carson and Audry Converse.  

  Dennis graduated from the University of Illinois with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology.  Dennis served as a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1968-1969, fighting in the battle of Hue.  He found great joy in flying airplanes, both as a private pilot and flight instructor.  He had an extremely good work ethic and loved to play tennis, golf, ping pong and following Illini sports.
