Dolores "Dee" Carlson

Dolores "Dee" Carlson came into our world like the day itself born on July 4th, 1929 and passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on June 17, 2021.

She was a Devoted Daughter of the late Angelo and Lillian. 
Loving Wife to the late Arthur.
Super Sister to the late Donald and Leo.
Magical Mother to Michael and the late Mark.
Greatest Grandmother to Michael II (Meghan) , Matthew (Alex), and Martin.
Great Grandmother to Mattix and Madilynn.
An Awesome Aunt and Great Aunt 

And a Friend to all.

Dee left an impression on everyone she met. She had her surefire way to captivate a room full of people. Usually, she would throw on a pair of her estimated 400 pairs of sunglasses, switching them until she found a pair that would elicit a smile. Then she would go for a trusty joke. Usually, it would be a clean one, but if the occasion called for it, she had her arsenal zingers that would make the most road-tested comic blush. She loved being the center of attention at her many Fourth of July birthday bashes- each subsequent year scaling in grandeur and scope.

Dee also knew how to dial it back to care for the ones she loved. She gave her heart to her two rambunctious sons and their cousins, her grandchildren, and her great grandchildren as well as the many friends and relatives. She made sure to get the latest scoop on all of them and to pass that information on, despite sometimes mixing up names or actual events much like her beloved Enquirer. She showed it by providing 3am pizza breads for the adults, repeated rounds of the Calumet fight song and purse candy for the kids, and whistles and cowbells at plays, band concerts, recitals, and graduations. Dee always wanted to make sure you knew she loved you dearly. She and her beautiful spirit will be so missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her.
