He worked there as a caddy and on the grounds crew until he graduated from college. He was awarded a Chick Evans Caddy Scholarship to the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where he graduated with a BA with a major in Accounting. He took his first job in the business world as an auditor with Ernst & Ernst. He worked there as an auditor and consultant for ten years and then took a job as Administrative Vice President of Coleman Cable & Wire Company. After four years, he moved on to Nalco Chemical Company as Manager of Costs & Budgets, and then to Controller. He retired in 1992.
Music was a big part of Bud’s life as he and Bernice attended subscription series concerts at the Chicago Symphony for over twenty-five years. Bud was an active golfer, swimmer runner, and walker. He actively followed the stock and option markets, and was interested in woodworking and gardening. Bud was an avid reader and listener of audiobooks.
