Edward Anthony Dogan, age 83, of West Chicago, IL, and Marco Island, FL, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2026.
Born in Elmhurst, IL, to Joseph and Amelia Dogan, Edward grew up in Northlake, IL. A proud veteran, he served his country in the United States Navy. Following his military service, he dedicated his entire professional career to Commonwealth Edison. In 1968, he married the love of his life, Carol Ann, beginning a devoted marriage that spanned almost 58 years.
Edward lived a life full of warmth and dedication to his family. He cherished the time spent at his second home in Marco Island, FL, and found his greatest joy in the company of his family, especially his beloved grandchildren. A fiercely loyal Chicago Cubs fan, Edward spent countless hours watching—and occasionally screaming at—his favorite team, and he was absolutely thrilled to finally witness them win the World Series in 2016.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Ann; his sons, Andrew (Julie), Joseph and Kenneth (Ally); his cherished grandchildren, Seth, Alayna and Sunny; his sister, Carolyn; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Amelia, and his brother, Robert.
Interment will be private at Irving Park Cemetery in Chicago.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Edward's memory to Anderson Humane in South Elgin, IL, or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
