Frank J. Horejsi

Frank J. Horejsi, age 83, was born June 8, 1932 in Chicago, IL, the son of the late John and Josephine (Kakanauskas) Horejsi.

Frank married Evelyn M. Gala on March 30, 1956, which began a marriage that lasted 59 years until his death on July 16, 2015 at his home in Lisle. Together Frank and Evelyn raised a sweet, caring and successful family.

Frank and Evelyn are survived by four devoted children: Marie Grondfeldt, Linda Haerr, Frank Horejsi, and Kathy (Dean) Bunting.
 

He was the loving grandfather of  Gary Grondfeldt, Pauline Jozwick, Bradley (Felicia) Grondfeldt,  Stephanie Horejsi, Anngeline Horejsi, Brianna Bunting and Megan Bunting
and Great-Grandfather of  Aydan Jones, Milena Moya and Ryan Grondfeldt.

Frank was a dear brother of Robert Horejsi, of Baraboo, WI, Mary Ann Sefkar of Baraboo, WI and the late Richard Horejs.

 

A Memorial Visitation will be held Thursday, July 23, 2015 from 5:00 pm until time of Memorial Service at 7:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1101 Kimberly Way, Lisle (on Rt. 53, between Maple Ave. and Hobson Rd.)

A private entombment will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.  

Frank was a veteran of the US Army, serving from January 1953 - May 1954 in the 371st Armored Infantry Batallion.  Before, during and after his service in the Army, Frank was a patriot.  

In celebration of Frank's patriotism and in lieu of flowers, Frank’s family wishes donations be made to The Independence Fund, which is a veteran’s organization providing all terrain track wheelchairs to severely injured veterans.  You may bring a donation to Frank’s services or donate directly at www.independencefund.org
