Franz "Frank" Wurczinger

We are profoundly saddened to announce that our beloved father, Franz “Frank” Wurczinger, 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 4, 2025, in Lisle, Illinois. He was born October 29, 1940, in Gant, Hungary, to Franz and Katharina (nee Fersch) Wurczinger.

Hard-working, amiable, and always willing to lend a hand, Frank was a devoted and affectionate mate to his surviving partner, Nancy Favale. Fiercely loyal to his family, he was a source of dependable strength for his children Sabine (Rick) Derse and Frank (Nil) Wurczinger. His caring support and no-nonsense attitude also endeared him to his extended blended family, which includes Michael Favale, David Favale, Christopher (Dawn) Favale. He was also beloved by his many grandchildren who affectionately called him “Opa”: Evan, Lorena, Louise, Karl, Anthony, Theresa (Ray), Christopher (Alicia), Jeremy, and great-granddaughter Mina, all of whom he joyfully entertained with his singing and accordion playing. 

Although separated by distance, his extended family in Germany, including his brother Dieter (Renata) Wurczinger and nieces Verena Dannenberg, Norma Dannenberg, and Annabell (Philipp) Haeuser, also deeply feel his loss.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Monica Dannenberg, and infant brother Sebastian.

Visitation Thursday, April 10, from 4 pm until 8 pm, at Beidelman Kunsch Funeral Home, 516 S. Washington Street, Naperville, Illinois. Funeral Service Friday 10 am, at the funeral home. Entombment to follow at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Hillside.
