George Jost, age 93, was born in Stefansfeld, Yugoslavia, the son of Georg and Barbara, nee Ludwig, Jost. He married his loving wife, Theresa, on August 8, 1949 in Austria. George and Theresa came through New York and settled near the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago, where George got a job with the D. Gottlieb Pinball Company that would last for 40 years.
George and Theresa were married for 64 years until her passing in 2014. He was the beloved father of Anna Moore (Gumaro Marquez) and Frank Jost (Carole Cozzi); cherished grandfather of Jason (Karisa) Moore, Jennifer Jost, Adam (Kristin Ringa) Moore, Brenda (John Riggs) Jost Riggs, Taryn Moore, Amanda (Stephanie) Jost and the late Lauren Moore; great grandfather of Corey (Sara), Alexis, Mayah, Julia, Alex, Nicholas, William, Ava, Betsy and Max; great-great grandfather of Leo; dear brother of the late Jacob Jost and a brother who died in infancy.
George loved spending time with his family, most especially his grandkids. He was fond of passing time playing cards with friends. A dedicated and courageous family man and a hard worker, George will be missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 1005 E. Schaumburg Rd., Schaumburg, IL on Thursday, June 6, 2019 from 9:00 am until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 am.
Private burial will follow next to George’s beloved wife, Theresa, in Maryhill Cemetery, Niles, IL.
