James David Sowizrol, 74, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at his home. He was born January 28, 1952, in Chicago, Illinois, to Stanley and Estelle (nee Skiba) Sowizrol.
He grew up the youngest of five boys in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood of Chicago. He attended St. James Catholic Elementary School where his mischievous behavior earned him the nickname Impo. He was a four year varsity letterman playing baseball at Foreman High School. Baseball was his life until a tragic motorcycle accident took that from him. He overcame the odds and recovered from that accident and lived a full life. On August 8, 1975, he married his high school sweetheart Joyce Klentz. He loved watching his Chicago sports teams - Cubs, Bears, Blackhawks, and Bulls.
James is proceeded in death by his parents and wife Joyce. He is survived by his children James Robert “JR” Sowizrol and Jessica (Ken) Longo; his grandchildren Barrett, Brooke, and Addison Sowizrol and Giselle, Avianna, and Nicolas Longo; his brothers Ronald (Roberta) Sowizrol, Stanley (Patricia) Sowizrol, Kenneth (Vicki) Sowizrol, and Daniel (Donna) Sowizrol; his uncle Leonard Skiba and his aunt Marilyn Cunningham; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 15th, 2026, from 5 pm until time of service at 7 pm, at Ahlgrim and Sons Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 330 W. Golf Road Schaumburg.
