Jeanette R. (McGuire) Deacon

Jeanette R. Deacon, nee McGuire, was born on February 15, 1927 in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of William Jennings Bryan McGuire and Lily Ann Schulz McGuire; Jeanette was the devoted mother of Paula A. (Larry) Garcia and the late Richard Scott Deacon; loving grandmother of Christopher Scott Garcia and Amanda Jean (Brandon) Grell; great-grandmother of Lily Anne Grell.  Jeanette lived in Lisle for 55 years, from 1960 until 2015; she taught both physical education and driver’s education at Downers Grove North High School for 24 years, from 1967 until 1991; and “Mrs. Deacon” or “Coach Deacon” was so well known that she was recognized by former students almost wherever she went, even one time while on vacation in Israel.  Jeanette was full of faith, treasured her family and friends and lived for a great golf score and to win at any card game.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2015 from 8:00 AM until time of service at 10:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1101 Kimberly Way (on Rt. 53, between Maple Ave. & Hobson Rd.), Lisle.  Burial will follow at Clarendon Hills Cemetery; Darien.  For additional information, call the funeral home at 630-230-8399.
