John “Jack” A. Smith, 84, of Wheaton, Illinois, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2024. He was born January 19, 1940, in Wellington, Ohio, to Arlo and Nellie (nee Handley) Smith.
Jack was a proud United States Navy veteran who served aboard the U.S.S. Truckee.
Jack is survived by his wife of 63 years Madeline “Maddie” (nee Cowin) Smith; his daughter Tammy (Tim) Beshoar; grandchildren John (Brenda) Steinhauer and Melissa (Tony) Freeland; and great-grandchildren Aubrey, Jaxson, Wyatt, Max, and Sofia.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Harry Wilson.
Visitation Tuesday, June 25, 2024, from 9:30 am until time of service at 11 am at Peace Lutheran Church, 21W500 Butterfield Road, Lombard. Burial to follow at Wheaton Cemetery.
