Judy Rusen, nee Burton, of Plainfield, formerly of Westchester and Darien, passed away in her home surrounded by loved ones on February 6, 2015. The daughter of the late Edward and Melvina Burton, she was preceded in death by her husband Rich and brother Tom (Laurie) Burton. She is survived by her brother Ed (Kay) Burton, her sister Carol (J.T.) Wood, three stepchildren, Steve (Sue) Rusen, Ed (Sheila) Rusen and Rosanne (Alex) Nelli, as well as seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Judy grew up on the south side of Chicago and attended Harper High School and Triton College. She was a White Sox fan and faithfully followed the Chicago Bears even through the tough years. She met her beloved husband Rich while they both worked at Western Electric and were introduced by Judy’s cousin George. They were happily married for 26 years until his passing in 2008. She and Rich could often be found supporting their grandchildren, nieces and nephews at their sporting and school events and hosting sleepovers and craft days.
Judy loved to cook, try new recipes and watch cooking shows. She had a kind, gentle and giving nature. Judy spent her last days in the company of family and friends until she passed into the arms of her Lord Jesus Christ. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
