Margaret "Margie" "Maggie" (Shelley) Carlson

  Margaret “Margie” “Maggie” Carlson, age 78 was born January 6, 1943 the daughter of John Manning Shelley and Freda Isabel Bard Shelley who raised Margie in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania.  Margie married Ron Carlson in 1961 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Downers Grove, Illinois.  They were married 55 years until Ron’s death in 2016.  Ron and Margie raised their family in Downers Grove.  

  Margie was the beloved mother of Andrea “Dee” (Vince) DeCicco and Donna (Mary Ellen Weller) Carlson; loving grandmother of Donna (Vincent Larucci) DeCicco and David (Stacey Pikowski) DeCicco; great-grandmother of  Anthony Larucci; dear sister of Catherine “Kitty” (Charles) Carlson, Ellen (late Gordy) Ickes, and the late Mary Ann (Charles) Smith; fond aunt and great-aunt of many.  

  Margie had many hobbies that made her happy.  She liked to read, enjoyed Chicago sports, especially the Blackhawks and Cubs, crocheted many afghans, bowled on the women’s league of the Moose Lodge #973, traveled with her loving husband Ron in their motorhome, camped annually in Florida with friends from Pennsylvania and had a great big sweet tooth.  

  Family and friends can gather at Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home, 516 S. Washington St., Naperville on Sunday, November 21, 2021 from 1:00 pm until time of Funeral Service at 3:00 pm.  Burial will be private at Clarendon Hills Cemetery in Darien, Illinois.
