She also has many nieces and nephews and a large extended family. She was a great baker, a wonderful cook, and the best mom anyone could hope for.
Nell and Les raised their family in Chicago, later moving to the suburbs of Berwyn and then Elgin, Illinois. They were involved in scouting when their children were young and throughout their lives maintained active participation in the Lutheran churches in each community where they lived. In retirement they enjoyed membership together in the Midwest Division of the Train Collectors Association. They enjoyed more than 58 years of marriage until Les passed away in 2008.
Nell forged friendships and found support in her Elgin neighbors as well as in the Primetimers seniors’ group at King of Glory Lutheran Church in Elgin. In 2017, she moved to Lisle, Illinois to live closer to family and became a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Nell was preceded in death by many dear relatives and close friends.
