Noreen Judith Halligan, nee Lynch, February 21, 1943 – December 27, 2018. Loving mother of Margaret (Christopher) Wrobel, Catherine (Zoon), Noreen & Thomas Halligan and the late Mary (Phil) Marra; sister of Jeremiah J. (Mary) and the late Patrick Edward (Patricia) Lynch; devoted daughter of the late Margaret Barrett Lynch and Jeremiah Lynch. Aunt of many nieces and nephews; grandmother to Andrew, Sean, Thomas, Patrick, Jacob, Samuel, Joseph, Halli, Cassidy, Kaitlyn, Megan and Nancy.
A very proud, and fiercely independent Irish woman, who delighted in numerology (her lucky number is 21), Noreen lived by her favorite Frank Sinatra song, “My Way”. As a 45-year resident of Woodridge, she contributed to her community in many ways, including as a girl scout leader and DuPage County cookie chairwoman, an election poll judge, and volunteer at her children’s schools, as the PTA President, and her church, St. Joan of Arc, where she practiced her foundational faith.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 9:00 am until time of Funeral Mass at 9:30 am at St Joan of Arc Church, 820 Division Street, Lisle, IL. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery (Lot 50, Block 8, Section 37, grave 1) Alsip, IL. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made to your favorite charity.
