Peter W. Stocco, age 95, was born July 12, 1923 in Sacramento, California the son of Frank Charles Stocco and Jennie Schiro Stocco. Peter married Clara Tramutola on May 12, 1951 at St. William Catholic Church in Chicago. Pete and Clara were married 66 years until Clara’s death in 2017. He was the devoted father of Peter (Kristine) Stocco, Frank (Debbi) Stocco, Paula (Len) Stoia and Bernadine (Brian) Skokowski; cherished grandfather of Peter (Heather) Stocco, Mike Kmera, Adam Stocco, Sara (Adam) Segar, Paul Stocco, Erin (Tanner Gibson) Stocco, Daniel Powell, Cindy (Ron) Cuellar and the late Christine Koeb; great-grandfather of Ariana, Hailey, Jenna, Charlie, Lyla, Clara, Brooke and Chase; fond uncle of many.
Peter was an Army veteran of WWII and received both the Bronze Star and Purple Heart medals, after being wounded in Okinawa, Japan.
Pete was very proud to work as a tool and die maker. He was well known in the industry and took great pride in his trade.
Memorial Visitation will be held Friday, April 26, 2019 from 11:15 am until time of Memorial Mass at 12:15 pm at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, 330 N. Westmore Ave., Villa Park, IL. Private burial will be next to Pete’s beloved wife, Clara, in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, River Grove, IL.
