Rachel Jon Thornton

Rachel Jon Thornton, 57, died 19^th of January, 2017 at her home in Elmhurst Illinois. Her memorial services will be held in the spring.

Ms. Thornton was born on 18^th of August, 1959 in Kansas City, Missouri to the union of Anna and Delbert Thornton. She spent her childhood in Kansas City, graduating from St. Theresa’s Academy in 1977. She went on to complete a Bachelor’s Degree of Arts in Pre-law from Rockhurst University.

Rachel had a robust 30 year career in merchandising and category management.

Her mother, father, Brother David, and Sister Anna-Louise preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memories: Son, Jacob R. Wagner of Elmhurst, Illinois; Brother, Rodney Wells (Sherrill) of Fresno, California; Sister, Deborah S. Thornton-McIntosh of Kansas City, Missouri; Adopted mother, Eleanor Demus of Las Vegas, Nevada; Adopted sisters, Paula Hanley of Hooksett, New Hampshire, Robyn Cushingberry (Edward) of Beaufort, South Carolina, and Marie Babb-Fowler (Carl) of Evanston, Illinois; Goddaughter Candyce Black-Wells (Jason) of Cass City, Michigan; Dearest friends, Loretta Thompson-Cole and Daughter Mira Thompson of Evanston, Illinois, Cynthia  Maignan (Lyonel) of Boynton Beach, Florida and Denise De Jay Johnson of Evanston, Illinois;  a host of other relatives and friends who love her eternally.
