Richard "Bill" Egner

Richard “Bill” Egner, age 84, was born in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Jack and Louise, nee Shroeder, Egner.  Bill was raised from the age of 7 in Downers Grove, Illinois.  Bill married his high school sweetheart, Rosalie Gawriluk, on June 19, 1955 in Holy Trinity Church, Westmont, Illinois.  He was the loving father of Richard (Karen) Egner, Julie (David) Wielgus and the late Timothy; cherished grandfather of 4 and great grandfather of 4; dear brother of Larry (Joan) Egner, Mary Lou (Tom) Gorman, and the late Dick (Gloria) Knutson.  Bill is also survived by Patricia (Larry) Koppen.  Bill was always active in his church family.  He worked as a meat cutter, retiring in 1992.  Upon retirement Bill took great pride in serving as a crossing guard at St. Mary Parish in Downers Grove.  He enjoyed fishing and bowling.

Visitation will be held Saturday, June 8, 2019 from 2:30 pm until time of Funeral Service at 4:00 pm at Hobson Road Community Church, 2531 Hobson Road, Downers Grove, Illinois.  Private burial will be at Clarendon Hills Cemetery, Darien, Illinois.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Ronald McDonald House Charities will be appreciated.
