Robert “Bob” D. Philips, 78, of West Chicago, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2025. He was born March 17, 1946, in Geneva, Illinois, to Harold and Meeta (nee Jordan) Philips.
Bob was a United States Army Veteran and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. He was later the football commissioner in West Chicago and coached youth football, baseball, and wrestling through the park district. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, horse racing, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary (nee Sweeney); his sons Brian (Alisia) and Jamie (Robin); his grandchildren Samantha (Montana) Stahl, Emma, Paige, and Tye; his great grandson Fenris Stahl; his sister Beverly (Larry) Forni; and his nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation Tuesday, January 28 from 3 pm until time of service at 7 pm, at DuPage Cremations and Funeral Chapel, 951 W. Washington Street, West Chicago, Illinois. Interment private.
