Teodoro Martinez

  Teodoro Martinez, age 91, was born April 4, 1924, in Mexico City, Mexico, the yougest son of the late Teodoro Martinez and late Maria Martinez de Saldaña; Teodoro passed away November 8, 2015 in Chicago, IL.  He married Magdalena Alvarado on May 2, 1959 and began a loving marriage that lasted 52 years.    Magdalena preceded him in death on February 19, 2011.  

  Teodoro was the devoted father of Joseph and Gerard "Jerry" (Pasqua "Patty") Martinez and loving grandfather of Teodoro, Domenico and Ramon Martinez.  He was the dear brother of the late Joseph, late Ramon and late Jesus Martinez; and fond uncle of many caring nieces and nephews.

  In Mexico City, as a young man, Teodoro played soccer with Atlanté.  He was a veteran of the Mexican Air Force, serving as a 1st Sargeant Aeronautic Mechanic with the famous Aztec Eagles.  

  After moving to Chicago, Teodoro used his mechanical skills working as a machinist with Paasche Airbrush Co.  It was said that if something needed fixing, and if Teodoro had a piece of metal, he could fix it.  

  Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Monday, November 16, 2015, at the Kolbus-May Funeral Home, 6857 W. Higgins Ave., Chicago where Funeral Services will begin on Tuesday at 10:15 am and proceed to Mary, Seat of Wisdom Catholic Church, 920 Granville Ave., Park Ridge, for Funeral Mass at 11:00 am.  Following mass, Teodoro will be buried next to his loving wife, Magdalena,  in Maryhill Cemetery, Niles, IL.
