Timothy Jania

Timothy “Tim” Jania (age 67), passed away peacefully on Monday, September 21st, 2020 in the comfort of his home. He was born January 27th, 1953 in Chicago, to Casimir “Casey” and Dolores “Dolly” (nee: Gizewski) Jania. He married the love of his life, Cynthia “Cindy” J. Jania, in September of 1978.  Cindy preceded him in death in 2019.

He was a 1971 graduate of St. Rita of Cascia High School. He worked as a PC Manager for the Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) for many years and retired in 2011. Tim was always someone you could count on and confide in. He knew how to appreciate life and spent his time doing what he enjoyed most with the people he loved.  You could always count on him for a good laugh and the answers to Jeopardy, he would just need a little time to “search his file cabinets” inside his head for the information.

Tim will be remembered as the beloved husband and fishing partner of the late Cindy J. Jania. The kind & devoted father of Cassandra “Casey” (Paul) Veasman, Timothy “T.J.” (Beth nee: Michiels) Jania, and Rebecca “Becky” (Dylan) Swift. The exceptionally proud and doting grandpa of Zachary P. Veasman, James T. Jania and Owen J. Jania. The treasured brother of the late James “Jim” (Kathy) Jania, Richard “Ricky” (Sue) Jania, and Janet Collins. And the favorite uncle, cousin, colleague, and friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Due to COVID-19 and safety precautions, a private family service will be held in lieu of a public service at this time. To honor Tim’s wishes and celebrate his life, the family hopes to arrange a memorial golf outing at a later date.
